Jerusalem  Eternal Jerusalem

by Shiran Abramov

Last week on Thursday, May 10, 2007, we went on a trip to the capital of Israel for Jerusalem Liberation Day.

All the 8th graders and several 9th graders went on the trip. Thanks to the journey we visited lots of interesting tourist sites in Jerusalem. We left the school about 9 a.m. and it was a long journey. When we arrived at the first site, we had a break to eat and do personal needs. We passed through many checkpoints until we reached the Kotel. Afterwards we were in the first neighborhood outside the walls of the Old City. Then, we visited the Jaffa Gate and many other landmarks in the Jewish Quarter. Finally, we visited the Begin Museum and the Teddy Stadium called in the name of the famous Jerusalem mayor, Teddy Kollek, who died in this year. We came back to the bus and we were driven back to Be’er Sheva at 11 p.m. Because it was too late the driver dropped us off near our houses…We were so tired but we enjoyed the trip very much!

Life under Missles by Yael

SderotWhile everyday people are getting hurt in Sderot, everything is calm in Be’er Sheva. Yesterday in the evening news I heard about another dead person. It’s already the 2nd person that was killed with a missile, the first one died a week ago. This situation only shows how much
Israel needs a real leader and an efficient government that wouldn’t be full of people who take bribes.

Flying Eggs of Shavuot by Anna, Yael and Noa

Last week it was Shavuot, but in the school some students started celebrating the holiday earlier by throwing eggs on other kids. It is not nice to do that! Some people were scared to get out of the classes in breaks. We think that those students are very stupid and our teachers need to punish them.
